My mother turned me on to the potential of saving money and having fun by keeping a Mini Farm, even if you dont own acres of lands in the country. Of course it isn’t necessarily fun to ask mom all of her tricks and to work on food next to her all the time, so this book was a wonderful find for me. I got way more out of the read then I was expecting. Its not only a fun thing but a good investment and its going to save me so much money. Its written in a wonderful style so its easy to read. Its a highly recommended book.

I have always wanted a backyard garden as a child but I was never successful. I was always doing something wrong and eventually I just gave up. What this book seeks to do is provide step by step instructions on how to create and maintain a healthy garden. This is a great book for anyone who has an interest in home gardening as it is loaded with valuable information. The author also pointed out the benefits of having a home garden which includes cutting back on expenses since you will be eating what you grow. Highly recommended!

After reading that some of my favorite fruits are on the top list for fruits with the most pesticides, I decided that having my own garden in my backyard would give me some piece of mind (As I could control what was sprayed on them). While I wasn’t interested in buying or keeping livestock (which this book also talks about), I was able to get all the information I needed to start my own garden. I gathered all the required materials from home depot and planted a variety of vegetables and fruits. While it is too early to tell whether anything will come of the garden or that it will be successful, the hard work is done! I highly recommend this book if you are looking to start your own garden and I can’t wait to see the fruits of my labor soon enough!
