Real Estate Agents/Realtors: This is for you. Answer if you have worked at both Century 21 and KellerWilliams?

Question by Honeymoons By CASSANDRA, LLC: Real Estate Agents/Realtors: This is for you. Answer if you have worked at both Century 21 and KellerWilliams?
I am currently enrolled in Real Estate school, but I am debating on which broker to get employed with. I am torn between Century 21 and Keller Williams. I need to know the pros/cons of being employed with either, so I need answers from realtors who’ve been employed with both of these companies. This will better assist me with making my final decision. All answers are appreciated.

In both cases, each office is independently owned, so go with the office you like best.

You won’t really be able to make a great decision until you have been in the business for 12 months. Then you will understand the small things that will be important for you but not for everyone. My first recommendation is for you to join the realty office that is nearest your home. That makes life so much easier. 2nd i would tell you to join the company that lets you get “floor time” immediately. Most offices don’t let you take floor calls until you have gotten 3 sales or 3 listings. But those floor calls ( general inquiries from the public) are what let you get 10 listings or 10 sales.
Keller WIlliams is a multi-level marketing operation. You make money by selling real estate. You make money by recruiting other agents. That’s why they are so good at getting new agents to join (you) because they push hard to get new people. That has pluses and minuses. Only you can decide. KW has one of the better commission splits for new agents ( 65-35 after everything is taken out).
C-21 is beloved by the public. Everyone knows the name. They have great ads on tv. They are in every city so you can easily refer out clients and earn referral fees. The commission split is often 50-50 between you and the broker. That has been true since 1950 in the real estate industry.
You will likely not remain with either company for more than a year, so it is not terribly important which one you choose. Take Century 21..

Before I had my own brokerage I was with Keller Williams.

To me, they are the best.

Have you been to speak with the brokers in charge and got the fee’s and commission breakdown.

If you did…that would make your answer easy..Century 21 is still in the 20th century with regards to how they run their company.
